The Institute of International Social Development (IISD) is a non-governmental organization founded in 1994, headquartered in Kolkata, India. As a moral, private, independent, non-denominational, and non-partisan entity, IISD pursues exclusively socially useful purposes.
The Institute fosters dialogue between states, peoples, and communities; promotes sustainable development; works to reduce inequalities; and advocates for the protection of human and civil rights across the globe.
