International Conference on Sustainable Social Development in the Global South
A three-day flagship conference bringing together researchers, UN officials, government representatives, and civil society leaders to discuss strategies for equitable and sustainable social development in developing nations. The conference will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, research paper presentations, and networking sessions, with a special focus on South-South cooperation and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Workshop on Human Rights Advocacy at the United Nations
A capacity-building workshop designed for NGO representatives, human rights defenders, and civil society leaders. Participants will learn how to effectively engage with UN human rights mechanisms, including the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), treaty bodies, special procedures, and the Human Rights Council. The workshop includes practical exercises on drafting shadow reports and delivering oral statements.
Annual IISD Diplomacy Training Programme
An intensive two-week training programme for young diplomats, international affairs professionals, and graduate students. The curriculum covers multilateral negotiation techniques, diplomatic protocol, international law, contemporary geopolitical challenges, and the role of non-state actors in global governance. The programme includes simulation exercises and interactions with senior diplomats.
Roundtable on Climate Change and Social Equity
A closed-door roundtable bringing together climate scientists, social policy experts, and government representatives to examine the social dimensions of climate change.
